Atlantis The Palm, Dubai is a luxury resort hotel located at the top of Palm Jumeirah in the United Arab Emirates. It was the first resort built on the island to be themed around the myth of Atlantis but with Arabic elements. The resort opened on 24 September 2008 as a joint venture between Kerzner International Holdings Limited and Istithmar World. The 1,548-room nautical-themed resort has two accommodation wings consisting of the East and West Towers, connected by the Royal Bridge Suite. It is complemented by the Aquaventure Water Park and the Lost Chambers Aquarium, home to more than 65,000 marine animals.
Atlantis Hotel is located on Palm Jumeirah, on 46 hectares with 4.1 km of private beach. The idea to build a hotel in the form of a huge tourist complex in the Emirate of Dubai came from South African businessman Sol Cairns and cost $1.2 million. The hotel takes the form of he two facing towers connected by a bridge extending between the peaks. The hotel has he 1,539 rooms, many of which are huge and very expensive suites. The most luxurious wing is on the bridge between the two towers and costs $25,000 per night.

Atlantis The Palm was opened on 24th of September 2008 as a joint venture between Kerzner International Holdings Limited and Istithmar World. In April 2012, Istithmar World bought Kerzner’s 50 percent of the property for $250 million. The property is still managed by Kerzner International Resorts. The architect was the design office Wimberly, Allison, Tong and Goo (WATG), an international company specializing in luxury hotels. The main contract for the project was signed with Laing O’Rourke, an international construction company based in Great Britain.
Laing O’Rourke was responsible for the design and construction phase of the 23-story hotel and water park.
