L’Oréal Jobs and Careers in UAE

L’Oréal is a French personal care company headquartered in Clichy, Hauts-de-Seine, and based in Paris. It is the  largest cosmetics company in the world that has developed operations in this field, focusing on hair color, skin care, sun protection, make-up, perfumes and hair care. It currently owns 36 brands and continues to grow. As of October 4, 2021, the company has registered 97 patents.

Company acquired Synthélab in 1973 to fulfill its ambitions in the pharmaceutical industry. Synthélabo was merged with Sanofi in 1999 and became Sanofi-Synthélabo. Sanofi-Synthélabo merged with Aventis in 2004 to become Sanofi-Avent. On 17 March 2006, L’Oréal bought the cosmetics company The Body Shop for £562 million. In May 2008, This bought YSL Beauté for $1.8 billion. In January 2014, L’Oréal completed the purchase of Magic Holdings, a major Chinese beauty brand, for $840 million.

About L’Oréal

This Company started as a hair dye business, but  soon branched out into other cleaning and beauty products. L’Oréal currently markets more than 500 brands and thousands of individual products in all areas of the beauty industry: hair dyes, perms, hair styling, body and skin care, cleansers, make-up and fragrances. The company’s products can be found in a number of different distribution channels, from hair salons and perfumeries to supermarkets, health/beauty stores, pharmacies and direct mail.

This Company has 21 global research and development centres : three global centers in France: Aulnay, Chevilly and Saint-Ouen. The six regional hubs include one in the United States: Clark, New Jersey; one in Japan: Kawasaki, Kanagawa prefecture; In 2005, one was established in Shanghai, China, one in India: Mumbai, one in Brazil: Rio de Janeiro and finally in South Africa: Johannesburg. From 1988 to 1989, L’Oréal controlled the film company Paravisión, whose holdings included the Filmation and De Laurentiis libraries. StudioCanal purchased the Paravision property in 1994.

Nestlé has owned an investment in L’Oreal since 1974, when it bought  the company at the request of  the daughter of the founder of L’Oreal, Liliane Bettencourt. He tried to prevent the intervention of the French state. In February 2014, Shiseido agreed to sell the brands they owned like Carita and Decléor brands to L’Oréal for €227.5 million. June 2014, Companyagreed to buy NYX Cosmetics for an undisclosed price, bolstering its makeup offering in North America, where its consumer products unit had been faltering. In September 2014, L’Oréal announced that it had agreed to buy Brazilian hair care company Niely Cosmetics Group for an undisclosed price.

Since the year 1997, L’Oréal has been an official partner of the Cannes Film Festival. Over the years of L’Oreal sponsorship, many L’Oreal ambassadors have walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2017, L’Oreal beauty ambassadors such as Julianne Moore, Susan Sarandon, Andie McDowell and Eva Longoria were responsible for selecting the outdoor film at the Cannes Film Festival.

The Company tagline “Because I’m worth it” was created by a 23-year-old English art director and launched in 1973 by  model and actress Joanne Dusseau. In the mid-2000s, it was replaced with “Because you’re worth it.” At the end of 2009, the slogan was again changed  to “Because we are worth it” as a result of motivational analysis and consumer psychology research by Dr. Maksim Titorenko.

The transition to “we” was made to engage consumers more with L’Oréal’s philosophy and lifestyle and to increase consumer satisfaction with Company products. This is also owns the Hair and Body L’Oréal Kids range for children, with the slogan  “Because we’re worth it too”. In February 2014, Company agreed to buy 8 percent of its shares from Nestle for 3.4billion euros. As a result, Nestlé’s stake in L’Oreal dropped from 29 percent to 23.29 percent, while the Bettencourt Meyers family’s interest rose from 30.6 percent to 33.2 percent.

September 2014, Company acquired the multicultural brand Carol’s Daughter. July 2016, L’Oréal agreed to buy IT Cosmetics for $1.2 billion. In March 2018, L’Oréal acquired expanded beauty  company ModiFace. May 2018, L’Oréal announced a new beauty and fragrance partnership with Valentino. In December 2021, L’Oréal announced the acquisition of the vegan skin care brand Youth to the People.
