About the job
Working for a leading international law firm and reporting to the Head of Bids in the UK, you will be responsible for delivering winning pitches and proposals, whilst managing diverse groups of people and turning thoughts and ideas into results.

The role sits within the Middle East BD & Marketing function based in Dubai and has close working relationships across many areas of the business, particularly the regional partner group.
A Dubai-based Bids Exec will report into this role. It is also expected that the Senior Manager will look to call on other resource from around the business as appropriate, bringing in BD colleagues, and others from around the business, who may be less experienced in bids’ work but who have a deeper knowledge of the client/client’s sector.
The team is well established and supports on a wide range of proposals from “routine” service line opportunities through to major priority client panel opportunities. There are established best practices, and the team prides itself on its ethic of continual improvement.
There are many regional offices and a strategy for continued growth.

Your areas of knowledge and expertise

Project managing bids effectively and calmly to tight deadlines, often simultaneously
Drive, influence, commercial nous to help our activities succeed
Strong people / team management experience
Excellent attention to detail
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders across a business, including the ability to engage with different groups – both in the locally and internationally – to promote best practice and influence
Awareness and interest of developments in the wider legal market, empathy to challenges faced by our clients and commercial acumen around various pricing models
Ability to make connections between offerings throughout our sectors, practices, locations to articulate a compelling proposal
Able to demonstrate and use their initiative – looking for continuous improvement and ways to implement positive change
An effective communicator with the ability to say “no” professionally and escalate challenges and opportunities in a professional manner. You will need the confidence to challenge partners constructively and put forward alternative suggestions to positively enhance the output
Understands how to influence the decision-making process appropriately
Excellent writing and editorial skills for pitch content
Flexibility when managing own workload and priorities to take others’ time commitments into account
A strong team player – willingness to support other colleagues
Commerciality and acumen around various pricing models engaged by business

We are looking for someone with regional experience and they will relocate you if you are looking to return to the UAE. Your experience must be firmly in Bid writing in the professional services sector only.
