Job Description

The English Content Strategist’s role is an integral part of strategic communications. As well as being an excellent writer of long- and short-form content, the candidate will have excellent client management skills and have a holistic understanding of communications, PR, digital and social media. Content capabilities must include, but are not limited to – drafting opinion editorials, crafting narrative and developing cut-through messaging, drafting keynote speeches, high-level talking points, press releases, as well as having an eye for attention grabbing copywriting. Joining us at the start of a major project, the English Content Strategist will be a responsive, responsible, and motivated self-starter who can formulate communications in collaboration with various project steams, as well as design, develop and deliver compelling content strategies for a range of platforms, and have the management skills to implement them.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Assist various client teams in writing news releases, media invites, Q&As, speeches, features, bios and other communication material such as corporate/business presentations in PPT or other such software
Review, edit and rewrite all written material (to include traditional, digital, and social media content) as required by team members
Write press releases and statements
Write official speeches for conferences and meetings
Write Op-eds for the minister and other officials
Prepare media plans and specialized campaigns
Assess Media Opportunity including Interviews & Commentary
Review the content of social media platforms
Review the content of the Ministry’s publications – “Rare”
Understand the requirements of various teams and convey the client’s key messages adequately and appropriately through effective use of language
Support teams by providing error-free media-worthy material
Consult and guide client-handling teams on matters related to media requests
Interact with team members and support them in building accurate communication measures
Manage deadline-oriented workflow of releases, invites and requests from various team members on a daily basis
Contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques or ideas at brainstorming sessions
Support the project manager in ensuring that resources are in place to cover delivery of all written deliverables

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Literature/Journalism/Communications
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a consulting firm, corporation, diplomatic post or media role
Fluent in English (Mother tongue fluency)
Proficiency is providing error-free releases/invites that can be accepted by the media
Ability to recognize the key messages of clients and offer effective ways to forcefully convey those messages
Capable of rapidly handling industry-specific research to add value to the releases and other communication material for the teams
Completely thorough with local, regional and global current-affairs
Quick with computers especially skilled in MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Work Conditions

The physical abilities needed to perform the duties of this position, in addition to the office climate:

Office environment is general office setting, either at Employer’s office or client’s office
Some travel will be required
Willing to work additional or irregular hours, including nights and weekends, as needed
