Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager role is centered around overseeing day-to-day accounting activities and supervising accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, payment collections, payroll, and budget preparations. In addition, the Accounting Managers responsibilities also include establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting information. The ideal candidate will be expected to work closely with our financial management team.
Job Responsibilities:
Monitoring the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as invoicing the clients, processing vendor invoices, and other transactions
Establishing and maintaining fiscal files and records to document transactions
Reviewing accounting and financial data and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
Tracking the companys financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement
Researching and analyzing financial reports and market trends
Reviewing, monitoring, and managing budgets
Providing insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making
Participating in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for senior company leadership
Supporting project analysis, validation of plans, and ad hoc requests
Seeking out methods for minimizing financial risk to the company
Ensuring timely monthly closure for IFZA group of companies
Handling VAT filing for IFZA group of companies
Contracting outside services for tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary
Meeting financial accounting objectives
Staying up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes
Understanding and adhering to financial regulations and legislation
Overseeing financial department employees, including financial assistants and accountants
Establishing and maintaining financial policies and procedures for the company
Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
Improving systems and procedures and initiating corrective actions
Assigning projects and guiding staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
Preparing monthly and quarterly management reporting
Performing other job-related duties as assigned by Management
Requirements
Tertiary education in Finance or Accounting
Minimum 5 years experience in Finance, Accounting, Financial Analysis, Audit, Financial Reporting, or Commercial Finance in the UAE
Public accounting experience is a must
Big 4 experience is desired
Additional qualifications are advantageous e.g., CPA / CFA
Full English proficiency is required
Additional spoken languages are a plus
Intermediate computer literacy is required e.g., MS Office
Ability to synthesize large quantities of complex data into actionable information
Knowledge of financial reporting and VAT reporting
In-depth IFRS knowledge is a must
Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
Ability to work and effectively communicate with senior-level business partners
Excellent business judgment, analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
Proven managerial and leadership skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently
Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and work ethic
