About DHA

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) was established in 2007 under the direction of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,  Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The program was launched in March 2008. Prior to the creation of the DHA, the body overseeing healthcare in the emirate was known as the Department of Health and Medical Services, which was established in 1973. In addition to overall oversight of Dubai’s healthcare, the DHA provides health services. through hospitals and other institutions under his immediate jurisdiction. These include Latifa Hospital, Dubai Hospital, Rashid Hospital and Hatta Hospital, as well as other specialist centres and DHA primary health centres across Dubai.

Dubai Health Authority has a clear vision to improve the quality of care provided to the population and visitors by ensuring accessible, specialized and patient care with the latest medical technology which was developed and mandated by Law No. 11 of 2013 by HH Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President  of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ruler of Dubai, health insurance is paramount in helping them to fulfill their vision and progress.
